“ECODHARMA: BUDDHIST TEACHINGS FOR THE ECOLOGICAL CRISIS”
BY DAVID LOY
MADRID, JULY 11 2024
Professor and Buddhist teacher David Loy will personally present and comment on his book “Ecodharma” at El Rincón de Mindfulness, in an event open to the public on July 11 in Madrid.
When we go to the forest and rediscover our fundamental connection with nature, it becomes clear that the world is not a collection of separate things fo us to use, but a confluence of natural processes that includes us. The latest book by celebrated Buddhist philosopher David Loy is simultaneously a subversive manifesto, a call to action and a cure for that fiction of separation. Ecodharma is the Buddhist response to our dangerous ecological and climatic situation today, which at the same time brings ecology closer to Buddhism and updates this ancient spiritual tradition.
Considered one of the best spiritual books of 2023 in the United States, Ecodharma reveals the powerful ways in which Buddhism can help us respond to the enviromental challenge. It combines ecological concerns (eco) with the teachings of Buddhism and related spiritual traditions (dharma), inviting us to reconnect with nature and discover the eco-implications of Buddhist teachings. Today it is important for us to become ecosattvas, working together for thr healing and liberation of all living beings and the Earth that support us.
At the end of the event, David Loy will sign copies of his book.
The entire event will have translation into Spanish.
